Bottle for rainwater :)
I picked this up awhile ago at the recycling center, took the labels off the front and back, and filled it with rainwater. (I used to use a pint canning jar; this is prettier!) For those wondering, it's an empty Don Julio (brand) white tequila bottle.

I'm still wavering on leaving it plain and simple, or decorating the bottle (or just the stopper).
Front:(I usually keep the bottle turned *backwards* to hide the lettering...)

I've been doing some yard saling and thrift storing a bit of late and have come across a few things so far that I wanted to share with the rest of you...

Several Awesome Things
Hello! I rarely post to communities, but this community inspired me to go thrifting over the weekend.

My find included a metal cauldron. Check it out under the cut!

My recent 'finds':
I don't know if I'm just too picky or what, but it's been hard for me to find much via yard sales and/or thrift shops that I would or could put toward "magickal/altar" uses...but, I have unearthed a few things:

My latest finds
I haven't posted in a while, but I finally have some stuff to share with everyone:D

I've actually had these for a little while now, not too long though.

First up, a drawer compartment. I actually didn't get this at a thrift store, myself...my Dad did and then he mailed it to me. When I got it, it was a nasty brown spray-paint color and the star bursts looked horrible. I painted it black and applied liquid silver to the metal accents:

Re-handling Athame
X-posted to pimp_my_altar, pagan_thrift, and pagan_d_i_y. If it's unwelcome at any of these places, or you have suggestions on where I might get better answers, please don't hesitate to let me know.

The current athame I have is this one, and it's served me well for many years. However, since I'm seeking to walk a Traditional path of Wicca (Gardnerianism, specifically), I'd need one with a black handle, but still just as plain (and my personal aesthetics would prefer silver tones to the gold/brass :P). They're damn impossible to find without spending an arm and a leg, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with removing/replacing the wooden handle with something that's naturally dark (e.g., ebony, etc.). I realize I could just repaint/restain it, but that would feel temporary to me, whereas a whole new handle would seem more permanent (and yes, I know that's just me).

I've also considered sanding some of the etching off of this one as an alternative as well, though.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.

I found the perfect shoes at Goodwill!

Well, they did need a little bit of work. I posted the details on ritualgarb:

Oak Leaf Framed Picture
I found this wonderful framed picture of some oak leaves in the thrift store today. It was only two dollars, and when I brought it up to the counter to pay for it, the lady said: "I thought of you when I saw that". :P

Thrifted Winter Altar

I wanted to share a photo of some of my thrift-store finds used on my Winter altar.

The two little ice-like candle holders in the front were found for about $1.50 at a local Samaritan Center...I've held onto them to use specifically on my Winter altar because they look so much like chunks of ice.
The three-legged stand with glass top in the center is actually a large candle holder that I got from the same Samaritcan Center for about $3.00, and the bronze star votive candle-holder on top of that is another thrift store find...this one was also about $3.00, I believe.
-The tan colored cauldron in the background holding the bundle of sage was found at a thrift store for about $1.00, it actually was used as a candle holder, but I burned the candle down and am now using it to hold my sage:)
The cabinet was picked up from a local thrift store and I use it hold my bottles of dried herbs, crystals, incense burners, incense, etc.
-The Greenman presiding over the altar was found at a thrift store...was supposed to be a pair for $1.00, but I could only find the one.
And lastly, the little silver cauldron with the rose in it on top of the cabinet is a silver cigarette dish which I found for $1.00 at another thrift store:)

I LOVE thrift stores!:)

Thrifty=Altar Cloth
Just a little woven rayon something-or-other from Goodwill that I folded up. It was the perfect width!
I love green, and I love the fringe. Altar no longer naked!

-brass candle snuffer from the dollar store
-altar tile painted by my sister (supplies from the dollar store)
-wand made by me (willow, leather, crystal)
-silver bowl was my parents' (I use it to hold water)
-shell my father brought back from Ireland (he found it on the beach--and if you knew my dad, you would be in awe that he wanted to pick up a shell for me--LOL!)
-athame from a yard sale for $10
-brass gong, my mom got at a yard sale for $3
-chalice at the back from Liquidation World, and I painted it with a pentacle and fall leaves with glass paint

-Stones to the side from various places, skeleton key from a yard sale
-copper cauldron holds a candle and some herbs, was $2 from a thrift store

Candle holder

I found this at Goodwill today. I was thinking about holiday decorations and regretting not getting the green-coated St. Nick I saw there last week, so I went to check it out, but to no avail. I found this on the way out. It holds a tealight behind the glass to light up the colors. I'm planning on having a living-plant altar instead of a tree, and I think this will be lovely up there.

Maybe someday I'll have a digital camera, but, for now, I'll just have to describe the find.

I went to Gabrial Brother's to look for shoes. Well, my boyfriend thought we might as well look at he home decor section. There we found drums on clearance. $7.50. Not bad at all. It's metal, but it still produces a decent sound.

Recent finds
The little brazier and pot came from a charity shop.
The cat tile came from a Garage Sale at the Abbot's Bromley Horn Dance

I'm not sure where the cat is going yet!

My wooden cabinet
I've had this wooden cabinet for a while now. I think I picked it up last year from my local thrift store. I keep little bottles of dried herbs and crystals and whatnot in it. I also have it sitting on altar -I find it very useful for storage.
